How many of you stay up all night (well, almost) to binge watch your favourite shows? Or end up working until the wee hours of the night? Before we realise, those under eye bags and dark circles make their way into our lives. Unfortunately, they make your eyes look tired and add to the puffiness. So, what can you do? Just like me, you can try this DIY yoghurt and turmeric mask.

I had been struggling with this issue for a while, and made sure to try all possible solutions! From serums to creams, I bought everything but nothing really worked. I regret blowing up all the money, because none of the promises made by beauty brands were fulfilled. At the end of the day, my under eye region looked even more puffy! Too many ‘cosmetics’ can really spoil your case.

But on a sultry evening last month, I happened to meet a friend, who told me about this miracle solution – yes, the DIY yoghurt and turmeric under eye mask! At first, I didn’t believe her, because how was it possible that only two ingredients can make all the difference. But, I am glad I trusted her.

Here’s what you need to make this mask

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp of yoghurt

Method

1. Mix both ingredients well.
2. Take this paste in your hands and gently apply it to your under-eye area in gentle circles.
3. Leave it on for about 10-15 minutes, and then rinse it with warm water.
4. If you feel your eyes look too yellow (turmeric leaves behind that colour), don’t worry it will come off soon.
5. Do this at least three times a week.

Here’s why this yoghurt and turmeric under-eye mask works

Let’s just say there really is nothing better than turmeric. After all, it has been in use for generations for all kinds of skin issues. It’s packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, which can really brighten your skin, and reduce puffiness.

On the other hand, yoghurt is full of lactic acid, which helps to exfoliate the skin. It removes dead skin cells under the eye and makes them look bright and less puffy.

Some simple kitchen ingredients can really do wonders, right?

Also, ladies, this worked for me but make sure you do a patch test before trying this out!
