I used vitamin E oil on my face for a week and the results were unbelievable

I started using vitamin E oil on my face in the hope for glowing skin. But did this beauty elixir actually deliver? Yes, it did.

When we talk about vitamins that our body needs to remain healthy, vitamin E is almost always mentioned given that it helps your immune system fight diseases while keeping your skin glowing as well!

So, how exactly does it work?
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that aids your body in fighting free radicals. Now, free radicals are inevitable. They form because of everyday bodily processes, but the thing is that they tend to shorten the life of cells, causing the ageing process to speed up.

Step in vitamin E that is actually made out of multiple components. “But alpha-tocopherol is the only one used by the human body. Its main role is to act as an antioxidant, scavenging loose electrons—so-called “free radicals”—that can damage cells,” states a paper titled Dietary Reference Intakes for Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Selenium, and Carotenoids.

Hence, vitamin E is a healer of sorts that protects your skin against damage from factors like air pollution and exposure to direct sunlight while also using its anti-inflammatory properties to soothe your skin.

But how did I start using it?
It bothered me that my skin had been looking a little too dull, thanks to living in one of the most polluted cities in the world and stress. I have a combination skin, which means that while my forehead, nose, and chin tend to be more oily, my cheeks can end up looking too dry.

Hence, I’m usually on my toes when trying anything new on my skin and do my research. In spite of my apprehensions and caution regarding my skin type, I was pretty sure I needed to do something about my skin.

During my research for home remedies to brighten my skin and hydrate it, I came across an article on how effective using vitamin E as an oil for your skin is!

After gathering some information on the effects and benefits, I decided to invest in vitamin E pills and found them at my local chemist for a fairly reasonable amount.

I decided to start using them as a part of my night skincare routine for two reasons. One, using it during the day could make my skin look oily. Two, I hoped leaving it on my skin overnight with no exposure would give me the best results.

I used it with olive oil though
Instead of applying it directly, I mixed five to six drops of vitamin E oil with five drops of olive oil. I was applying it for the first time and wanted to use it with something that had suited my skin before.

I woke up to extremely hydrated skin and the glow I’d been looking forward to! I was pleasantly surprised that vitamin E had lived up to the hype with just a single application. In fact, I’ve never had any product that claims to work after one application work as well as this.

Over the course of a week, I noticed that my skin was looking brighter and also, smoother. The bumps I’d developed on my cheeks (thanks to my irritated skin) had also disappeared. What came as an extra benefit was that even my under-eye dark circles seemed lighter!

Also, watch:

I did feel the oily patches on my skin were getting slightly irritated and stopped using it after a week of application. The glow, however, did not fade away! I still use it every alternate week as a part of my nightly routine and it has been doing wonders for me.

A word of caution though
If you have problem skin (read: acne or hypersensitivity), then I would suggest consulting with your dermatologist before you start using vitamin E oil, so that you can have a better view of the pros and cons. Everyone’s skin is different but vitamin E definitely worked for me.
