PERSONALISE NOW

While we are aware that tomatoes contain vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, which could provide a moisturising effect, it also contains citric acid, malic acid and trace amounts of oxalic acid. The acidic properties of tomatoes can further irritate the skin, leading you to itch the under-eye area, and thereby increasing the severity of dark circles.

Tomatoes can make your eyes irritated, especially the under-eye skin due to the thin texture. Instead of tomatoes, Dr Sharad recommended the use of cucumber. It has a soothing effect and contains antioxidants that help reduce dark circles, added Dr Sharad.

Packed with essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, cucumber is a great ingredient to manage and treat dark circles. It comprises 96 percent water, and therefore, will help hydrate your under-eye skin. It will also help reduce the appearance of dark circles as it has astringent properties, acting as a natural toner.

So, ladies, check out Yasmin’s post, and switch to cucumbers for treating dark circles instead of tomatoes!
