Dr. Rinky Kapoor, Consultant Dermatologist, Cosmetic Dermatologist & Dermato-Surgeon, The Esthetic Clinics, New Delhi told HealthShots some Korean skincare secrets for glowing skin.

Dr Kapoor shares that Korean skincare is not about costly products but also about using the right techniques. Products and ingredients are carefully chosen, which include fermented rice water, ginseng, and snail-based products in Korean skincare but there are some products that should also be part of the skincare routine.

1. Propolis

Not many people know about this incredible ingredient but there are a host of benefits that make it a powerful photodamage fighter. It also fights bacterial growth and the free radicals that keep acne, dullness, and sensitivity away. Propolis is an antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral agent that smooths and softens the skin. it is also an excellent travel companion to rejuvenate dull and tired skin, explains Dr Kapoor.

2. Liquorice root

Are you tired of looking for ingredients that can help you avoid dark patches? If yes, licorice root is the answer for you! Dr Kapoor says that licorice root can help prevent dark spots and give your skin a glow. The high content of vitamin C, retinoid, and niacinamides in licorice root takes care of the skin from the inside out. The best part? It can also be used as an alternative to sunscreen and prevents skin from darkening greatly.

3. Tremella mushroom

Also known as the Silver Ear, this potent ingredient is also a super hydrator. This edible mushroom is proven to be effective in improving your skin and slowing down the signs of aging. Tremella mushroom contains antimicrobial and antiviral, making it the perfect choice for sensitive acne and dryness-prone skin.

A sweet-smelling citrus fruit, the Cho is rich in vitamin C. It can work wonders for people with dull and lifeless skin. It is lightweight but does a more effective job than traditional vitamin C products.

5. Centella asiatica

Also known as tiger grass, gotu kola, or Asiatic pennywort, this Korean magic ingredient is rich in antioxidants.
