According to Dr Gupta, here are the top four ingredients that will make your acne a thing of the past :

  1. Fish is a rich source of necessary vitamins
    Fish like salmon have a vital ingredient called omega-3 fatty acids that bring a whole lot of improvement to any acne condition.

The fatty acids helps in lowering inflammations in your body that aid acne reduction. It also acts on a protein called IGF-1 and reduces its production in the body as it is one of the main culprits behind an acne breakout.

2. Increase intake of almonds and other nuts as it’s great for the skin
If you suffer from a frequent acne condition, then one of the reasons behind it is can be a vitamin E deficiency. It acts as an antioxidant and is found in nuts such as almonds and peanuts.

These dry fruits also have selenium which helps in protecting your facial cells from further infections. According to experts like Dr Gupta, just add some Brazil nuts or almonds to your daily diet and you are good to go. 

3. Tomatoes work great in improving an acne condition
Tomatoes are rich in vitamins, and a great source for vitamins such as vitamin C, vitamin K, potassium, and iron.

They also contain lycopene which is a powerful antioxidant and helps in improving the skin by closing open pores. This ingredient in tomatoes also helps in reducing damage from the UV rays of the sun.

4. Benzoyl peroxide in skincare products is great to keep acne away
One of the most effective over-the-counter ingredients available to treat acne, Benzoyl Peroxide kills bacteria, and effectively removes any excess oil from the pores of the skin.

It also exfoliates dead skin cells that reduce the chances of another outbreak. You will find this ingredient in creams and gels that are designed to treat an acne infection. Pick up a product only if the concentration of this ingredient is between five to 10%.
