Dressed in impeccable workout gear, Malaika can be seen performing a pose which looks pretty complex. But guess what? She does it so seamlessly! We are sure she inspires you to move your body, doesn’t she? 

This time around, the B-town beauty can be seen doing gomukhasana or the cow face pose. In her words, “this pose helps to relieve any tightness around the hip and lower back area. As it stretches the chest and open shoulders, it increases the range of motion for shoulder joints. It is a great pose for alleviating stress and mental tension.”

Here’s how to do it:
  1. Sit with straight legs on your yoga mat.
  2. Now, bend your left knee bringing it under your right leg.
  3. Bring the left foot beside your right hip.
  4. Now, bend the right knee over your left one. Try to keep one knee over the other.
  5. Place your right foot, beside your left hip.
  6. Next, raise your right arm over your head, and bend your right elbow while bringing the right palm behind the upper back (palm facing backward).
  7. Keep your left arm down and bend the elbow, bringing the palm to the mid-back.
  8. Try to hook your fingers.
  9. Lengthen your spine.
  10. Keep the chin parallel to the ground.

The asana is particularly helpful for those who are struggling with severe stress and anxiety. Practise this pose regularly, because not only does it focus on breathing techniques, but also blends in some benefits of meditation.

Again, this is one of the biggest benefits of practising gomukhasana. While doing this pose, your body is in an erect position, while your hands are at the back. This allows the cartilage to get activated, which further helps in improved blood circulation.
