It takes a lot of hard work and diligence to stay in shape. You need the right food and right supplements combined with the right exercises in order to keep your metabolism on track. Similarly, spending your time practising a workout routine that doesn’t suit you will only take your father away from your fitness goals.

You see, not all exercises are meant for weight loss just like not all exercises are meant to tone your body. The exercise routine that you need depends entirely on your goal. If your aim is to lose weight, you should definitely avoid wasting time and energy on a workout plan that isn’t going to help you move the weighing machine needle.

Here are five exercises you should absolutely cut out of your workout routine if your main fitness goal is weight loss:
1. Yoga

You can speak to any credible yoga trainer and they’ll confirm that yoga isn’t meant for those who want to lose weight instantly. You see, yoga will take its own course. At first, it’ll work on opening up your body and only after that proceed to aid weight loss.

There’s no doubt that yoga is a great way to stay healthy but if your aim is weight loss, you need to add some cardio to it.

2. Jogging

The thing with jogging is that it will lead to some amount of weight loss but it’ll take too much time and also cause you to lose muscle mass.

Interval running and sprints can help you burn calories faster, instead.

3. Pilates

You need to understand the core fundamentals of the exercises you do. When it comes to pilates, it is more apt for sculpting an already toned body. It helps in keeping the muscles tight.

You can try different variants of interval training that will serve the dual purpose of muscle building and weight loss.

4. CrossFit

Not everyone can do CrossFit training. We say this because it is an advanced version of exercising. The stamina and muscle endurance needed can take a toll on your body. If not done properly, it can lead to muscle injuries.

You can opt for functional training.

BMI

Keep an idea of your risk of weight-related issues.

5. Spot-reduction exercises

At times, you only want to reduce fat from specific areas of the body. Hence, you end up focusing only on those areas. Unfortunately, your body doesn’t work that way. You need to work on it proportionately so that overall body weight can be reduced.

Chalk out a plan with a trainer and work on one body area each week.

So, ladies, avoid these exercises and concentrate on the ones that will get you the results you want!
