Without delicious food and satisfying those taste buds, Christmas celebrations would go incomplete. You must have enjoyed all the cakes, pastries, cookies, and other delectable meals that were served during the Christmas celebrations, isn’t it?. However, the days that follow, give us a reminder of all the unhealthy meals we enjoyed. So it’s time to get back on track and consider a few ways to lose holiday weight post Christmas.

Tips to lose weight

The goal of weight loss after Christmas celebrations is to shed the extra pounds that a high-calorie diet during the festival caused you to accumulate, not to significantly reduce your weight. So, follow these 5 tips to get back in shape:

1. Early morning detox

A detox drink at the start of the day is great to help with weight during the holiday season. With all the desserts and fried foods, your body needs a detox that will help to flush out all the toxins. Make a detox drink with cucumber, mint, lemon, and a bit of honey, and have it in the morning. It will aid in digestion and make you feel a lot lighter after all the heavy Christmas foods.

2. Make veggies your best friend

During the Christmas holidays, you would indulge in a lot of fried foods and sweets, and to balance all that, you need vegetables. Try to have more fresh vegetables post-Christmas as they are rich in fiber and ensure that your gut health is in good condition. Have vegetables in the form of salads, or you can even have a vegetable smoothie. Make sure that one of your meals contains lots of green, leafy vegetables to help you lose those added kilos.

3. Cut down on sugar

You have to say goodbye to those yummy cookies and pastries if you wish to lose weight post-Christmas. The best way to cut down on sugar is to avoid all sorts of desserts and replace your sugar cravings with fruits. Fruits are a great source of essential nutrients, and they keep you full for a long time. Apples, berries, kiwis, oranges, and avocados are some of the easily available and tasty fruits which you can munch on.

4. Add antioxidants to your diet

Antioxidants are known to aid weight loss. Antioxidants help in preventing free radicals in the body and are a great option to have right after the holiday season to get back in shape. Green tea, matcha tea, beans, nuts, and blueberries are enriched with antioxidants. Make sure to include any of these in your daily diet and see a huge difference in your body weight. Even if you feel a bit bloated, green tea or matcha tea will make you feel lighter.

5. Say no to alcohol

Alcohol consumption can lead to excessive body weight gain. Hence, ensure to cut down on alcohol as soon as the festivities are over. Replace alcohol with fresh fruit juices or smoothies, or detox drinks which are healthy sources of nutrition and will aid you in reducing weight. Lemon-ginger juice, beet juice, celery juice, pomegranate juice, and carrot juice are low in calories and high in dietary fiber, which is helpful in reducing weight.
