On the day of Karwa Chauth, women fast for the day in order to bless their husbands with long life. Most of them don’t even drink water for the whole day until they see the moon and pray. After completing all the rituals, all they can think of is food! If you tend to eat fried foods or caffeinated drinks to break your fast, let us tell you that it is the most common and worst fasting mistake you can ever make. Consuming heavy foods to break your fast can cause several health issues.

Let’s look at mistakes to avoid when you break your fast:

Since modern and liberal thoughts have been tweaking the rituals, many women feel the need to drink caffeinated beverages (like coffee/tea) to break their fast. Now, caffeine on an empty stomach is always avoided for the very simple reason as it increases the chances of heartburn or acidity.

Apart from that the effects may differ individual to individual but it is mostly seen to trigger bloating and indigestion as well. If your stomach is upset it will directly affect your mood, won’t it? During festivals you need to take care of what you’re eating and how much you’re eating.

Imagine fasting for 12 or more hours to only suddenly introduce fried, spicy and heavy meals on an empty stomach. Metabolism is generally dropped at this stage and high calorie foods will just cause indigestion which might come with flatulence and bloating. Spicy foods will cause gastric irritability affecting your digestion furthermore.
