This is one of the biggest myths of them all that people with diabetes should avoid eating fruits. The thing is that they can very well consume fruits that have less sugar content. But are they really getting the benefits out of these fruits? Well, the trick lies in the timing. Yes, we mean the timing of eating fruits.

If you go by nutritionists, they consider 1-4 pm the best time to eat fruits, especially for diabetics. This step helps in maintaining the sugar levels in the body, and around this time the digestion is even quicker.
Another thing is that if diabetics eat fruit around 1 pm, which is almost before lunch, they can also avoid overeating, which is usually responsible for that spike in sugar levels.

“It is advised that diabetic people have fruits at this time, as between 1-4 pm our body’s digestive fire is the highest. If one follows a workout regime, having fruits before and after the same is a good idea. This is the time when our body uses up the extra carbs quickly,” says celebrity nutritionist, Manisha Chopra.”
