Have you heard of comfort teas? They are caffeine-free and help you stay calm, not just mentally but also physically. They are high on nutrition, and have long-term benefits on your health. There are hundreds of such concoctions available today, but we’ve picked the one that you can easily make at home! So ladies, get set to prepare some saunf and tulsi tea.

Both saunf aka fennel, and tulsi aka basil are readily available in every Indian kitchen. Both the ingredients are known for its medicinal properties, but they are also gut-friendly!

Here’s how fennel is a great way to get rid of gastric pain
When it comes to saunf, we all know it is a rambaan for gastric pain. Basically, it helps in treating acid reflux , which is caused by overeating fried and unhealthy food.

Also, fennel is full of fibre, and this is exactly why it eases out the bowel movement, and pushes out the waste from the intestine to keep problems like constipation at bay.

There’s more. According to a study published in the Arabian Journal of Chemistry, fennel also boasts antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. So, if bloating or stomach infection is a recurring cause of concern, then fennel will clear them all.

What does tulsi offer for your gut?
Tulsi is known to be a magical herb, as it is loaded with therapeutic properties. From providing immunity, gut health to curbing infections–tulsi can do all this and more, with utmost ease.

Another reason for a bad gut is imbalance in the pH level. This also makes the gut acidic in nature. Eugenol, present in tulsi, solves this issue, as it is anti-inflammatory in nature. This effect of basil clears the digestive tract, giving you instant relief. What’s more, tulsi also helps you deal with water retention.

Also, according to a study published in the Journal of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine, consuming basil on a regular basis might help in the prevention of gastric ulcers. Plus, it also helps to keep lipid levels in check to ensure you don’t suffer from indigestion.
