Many brands are minting money by commercializing amla and we are buying it like hotcakes. The reason being that we all know how many benefits this humble superfood has to offer. From kids in your home to the elderly, everyone needs to have at least do ghoont of it daily so that they can stay hale and hearty. 

But, how sure are you that what you’re getting off the shelf is actually amla and not a mix of various artificial food flavours along with preservatives?

Besides, bottled or packaged goods cannot match the health benefits of fresh amla. That’s why we have a simple recipe that you can make at home to reap the health benefits of this superfood.

So, today, let’s prepare delectable amla juice:

Ingredients
1kg fresh amla
500 gms honey or jaggery/gur
250 gms ginger
10 to 15 fresh lemons
Salt to taste

Preparation
1. Chop amla into small pieces and mix it with salt. Let it sit for at least two hours.
2. Now in a pan, add the honey or jaggery to water and begin the heating process. Bring it to a boil to make a syrup. Set it aside to cool.
3. Now, wash the salted amlas with clean water and put it in a juicer to extract the juice. Similarly, extract ginger juice as well.
4. Now, mix amla juice and ginger juice. Also, squeeze lemons in it.
5. Add the honey/jaggery syrup and store it in a glass bottle.

How to consume it?
Well, according to experts, it is most advisable to consume amla on an empty stomach for the best results. Dr Partap Chauhan, Director, Jiva Ayurveda, suggests that you should add 1 part of amla juice to 5 parts water and sip it slowly.

Well, there is no denying that amla is considered to be one of the most powerful superfoods on the planet. Plus, it is one of the most crucial elements in almost all Ayurvedic products that you consume. The reason is simple: these small green gooseberries have more than one benefit to offer:
