This red bell pepper and sweet potato soup is weight loss in a bowl

When it comes to weight loss and eating healthy, it is not always important to eat expensive foods. A lot of foods already in your fridge can help you whip up something tasty and weight-loss friendly.

That’s why we have for you today a soup recipe that looks and tastes fancy but is made out of things you cook with almost every day. So, get ready to lose weight with this red bell pepper and sweet potato soup.

Ingredients:

One medium-sized red bell pepper, chopped
100 gms sweet potato, diced  
1 onion, roughly chopped
1 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp freshly-chopped coriander
2 cloves of garlic
1 tbsp sunflower oil
Salt to taste
200 ml water

Preparation:

1. Heat the sunflower oil in a pan and once it is hot, sauté chopped onions and garlic.
2. Now add the bell pepper and sweet potato. Saute them till they’re medium done and then add water. Simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Switch off the gas and let the mixture cool. Now, add to a blender with salt and black pepper and blend to make a smooth puree.
4. Strain and add the puree to the pan again and let it come to a boil. You can add more water if you like. Once done, pour it in a bowl and garnish it with chopped coriander and your bowl full of awesomeness is ready.

This red bell pepper and sweet potato soup is loaded with vitamins (A and C) and fibre. It will never let you feel like you’re low on energy, even though it barely has any calories. 

Bell pepper is great if you have anemia
Red bell pepper is a decent source of iron and it can help you manage your anemia. And according to the German Nutrition Society, DGE, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ernährung, pregnant women should consume it to replenish iron in their body.

You’ll be consuming healthy carbs with sweet potato
When we diet we mostly feel less energized because our carbohydrate intake is negligible. Instead of reducing our carb intake, we should look for better alternatives. And sweet potato can help you with just that. 

In fact, a study published in the journal Nutrient suggests that sweet potato has lipids and minerals that can aid weight loss if taken in moderation. Plus, it keeps you full for longer.
