I swapped my doodh wali chai with green tea for a month and the results are beyond amazing

Just like me, if you can’t live without your favourite doodh wali chai, then hear me out. I swapped it with green tea for a month, and guess what? I lost a good TWO kilos!

Water, no! Toothbrush, nah! Mouthwash, nope! Let’s cut the chase guys, because the very first thing that would hit my gut every morning was a steaming cup of doodh wali chai. Well, I can’t deny that I do miss it (just a wee bit), because after switching to green tea, my life has changed. After all, the results are magical!

We, Indians, are addicted to chai. In fact, even in the scorching summer heat, we relish a cuppa, as if it is THE elixir of life. My worries were completely different, I’d say! Not only was my gut crying out for help, but even my dull skin and dehydrated body served as a wake-up alarm.

And that had to happen!  I mean I would consume three cups of tea every single day.

I didn’t even notice that these three cups of tea were making things worse for me, up until I consulted a doctor for some serious heartburn issues. Of course, some medicines were prescribed, but I was also asked to make a simple switch in my life. Yeah! You guessed it right — I was asked to skip my milk chai, and switch to green tea. Well, simple for him.

A snapshot of the challenges I faced while switching to green tea

I have never ever been a fan of green tea. For that matter, I thought of green tea as the biggest hoax, until the time I really gave it a shot. Previously, I had seen no results, because I would have green tea, in addition to my regular chai

But let’s be honest, I didn’t make a random switch. For almost 10 days, I eliminated one cup of chai from my daily routine. I stuck to just one cup for a good 20-25 days, and then switched to green tea.

It’s been over a month and a half now, and I just don’t feel like going back to my old ways. Sorry, but it’s a goodbye to my doodh wali chai!

Here are some benefits I experienced

1. I lost weight

Since there’s no dairy and sugar in my green tea, I skipped those extra calories that were a part of my regular chai. Also, when there’s milk tea, you need accompaniments like cookies and munchies, because sugar really increases those cravings.

2. No more acidity

PERSONALISE NOW

I blame my bed tea habit for this because it literally ruined my digestion. And if you think chai will help you poop better, I must tell you that after a while, it might also make you constipated. And trust me, it can get really bad.

3. I slept like a baby

The thing was that I opted for caffeine-free green teas. So, there was no caffeine or tannin to disrupt my sleep. Hence, I slept with sheer calm and peace. This further helped me with my productivity and concentration at work. So, it was a win-win situation for me.

4. My oral health is way better

For whiter, brighter, and stronger teeth, I didn’t opt for a new toothpaste brand. Instead, skipping milk tea made it happen automatically. Happy realization!

5. My skin became more supple, and hair fall reduced to quite an extent

My doctor had clearly explained that after I quit milk tea, my hair and skin will restore their glory. That’s because green tea helps in the better absorption of nutrients, and at the same time, keeps your hormones in check.

I was told that skipping milk tea will increase the absorption of calcium, iron, and B vitamins. Well, what more could I ask for?

After sharing my tea swapping experience with you, I would like to share some prominent withdrawal symptoms that you, too, might experience if you make a switch.

There was minor fatigue, headache, and dizziness that I experienced. But frankly, it lasted only for a few days.

To be honest, I’m head over heels in love with this green concoction and would advise all of you to take this challenge. Because you know what, it’s totally worth it!
