  1. Not brewing it right

Every method of brewing such as drip system, French press, espresso and cold brew will bring in different flavours to the coffee. 2. Temperature of water isn’t apt

It’s important to reach the right temperature of water to get the best flavour of beans. Cold water will result in flat underextracted coffee, while water that’s too hot will also cause a loss of quality in the taste of the coffee.

  3. Adding excess sugar
“Coffee loaded with refined sugar may lead to excess energy, and increase the risk of obesity. Try to consume your cuppa with less sugar or add cinnamon powder to add sweetness to the coffee,” shares Priya Palan, dietitian at Zen Multispeciality Hospital, with Health Shots.
  4. Not selecting the right kind of beans

The quality and flavour of the coffee is not only determined by the process, but also by the type of coffee beans. The best idea is to try and enjoy different combinations.

  5. Bought too much in one go

Buy smaller quantities of freshly roasted coffee more frequently. It starts losing its freshness almost immediately after roasting.

Coffee’s greatest enemies are air, light, moisture and heat. It’s important to store coffee in an opaque, airtight container to avoid humidity and light, so as to not compromise on the taste of coffee.

  8. Wrong coffee timings

Post lunch meal coffee can disrupt sleep patterns and keep you awake till late at night. It can reduce the sleep quality and quantity. Fix it by quitting coffee consumption late in the day.
