Did you know that approximately 4 out of 5 women wear the wrong bra size. We’re sure that your wardrobe has that never-ending pile of bras of varying sizes, but still, not one seems to fit perfectly. The ones that pinch, that slip or maybe chafe. Wearing a bra is an everyday thing for most of us, and it’s important to know your exact bra size, the one that fits well and serves the purpose it’s intended to. So, come let us know how to measure bra size in the right way.

Most of us settle for a size recommended to us by a salesperson. Little do we realize that our bodies tend to fluctuate and change over time. So, it’s essential to keep checking every now and then to ensure you are getting the best of your lingerie. Wearing a good bra could translate to having a productive day at work, a great night out, and a lot more.

Step-by-step guide to measure your bra size

This involves two aspects – your band size and your cup size.

How to measure your band size?

Step 1: Remove your garments and stand straight. Just wear a non-padded bra..
Step 2: Use a measuring tape to measure around your back and under your bust, where your bra band would usually sit.
Step 3: Make sure that the tape is moving around in a steady line. It should only feel snug and not tight.
Step 4: Find your measurement in inches. If an even number comes out, great, that’s your size. If you land at an odd number, round it up to your nearest even inches to know your size.
Step 5: Now it’s time to know your cup size!

How to measure your cup size?

Step 1: Continue wearing the same bra, and measure around the fullest part of the bust.
Step 2: Always make sure that the measurement is even across your bust, but never measure too tightly. Always allow some breathing room.
Step 3: Next, subtract your band size from your bust measurement. The difference will come out as your cup size in the form of a letter
Step 4: Now subtract your band size from your cup size. The difference tells you your cup size. If your cup size is 36 inches and your band size is 34 inches, you get 2 inches. That means it’s a B cup size. And your correct bra size is 36B.

Importance of wearing the right bra size

Wearing poorly fitted bras can hinder simple things in your everyday life and can also cause health issues. You must wear your right fit at all times.

1. Makes you look slimmer

A well-fitted bra makes you look leaner and gives your body that near-perfect silhouette, making you come across as toned and lifted. For women with bigger breasts, choosing the correct bra with ample lift and side support is all the more important.

2. Gives you posture

A good bra helps contour your bosom. You feel comfier in all the outwear you choose to wear on any day.

3. Helps deal with shoulder and neck strain

Apart from giving you comfort and enhancing your appearance, a good bra helps alleviate any shoulder or neck strain that comes along with wearing the wrong fit.
