A father’s role as the head of the family and a favorite hero for his daughter creates a special bond. As this priceless relationship is built on true unconditional love, sacrifice, and understanding, you have some responsibilities too. As an appreciation for all that your dad does, we’d like to give some insights into some health tips. Here are some of the best initiatives for the daughter when it comes to taking care of her father’s health.

Health Shots got in touch with Dr Smitha Jain, consultant, Internal Medicine, SIMS Hospital , Chennai, who listed 3 health rules all fathers should abide by.

So daughters, follow these health tips for your father’s health:

1. Diet and doctor

The importance of your father’s diet and medications cannot be overstated. As a daughter, you can either ensure or monitor your father’s health in terms of diet and medications.

Dr Jain advises, “Take proper care and help him consume timely meals that are not processed or junk. A high-fiber, low-oil, low-salt diet can significantly lower the risk of various lifestyle-related problems. Also, note that your father takes his medications on time and follows up on their doctor’s appointments.”

Take some time out of your busy schedule and cook some nutrient-rich homemade meals for him. You’ll see that nobody hypes your cooking skills better than your dad!

2. Stress and exercise

A daughter can certainly assure her father’s work-life balance, as well as other aspects such as stressors, and binge eating. Help him quit unhealthy habits such as smoking and drinking, which promotes cardio-respiratory activity and prevents muscle loss. Regular workouts such as walking, Yoga, cardio, cycling, and jogging, among others, should be taken up. They help increase the body’s metabolism and induce a normal healthy pattern for preventing or at the very least, keeping serious problems at bay.

3. Sleep and mental health

“Regular and proper sleep, as well as limiting binge-watching are your responsibilities as a daughter. Managing stress-related complications through counseling and family support, can help a father deal with a variety of age-related disorders such as walking difficulties, depression, loneliness, diabetes, among others.” Dr Jain told Health Shots.

Young fathers are especially vulnerable to problems such as diabetes and hypertension. This necessitates prompt and accurate diagnosis as well as the best possible lifestyle changes. Invest in more quality time and pay attention on fathers. It will go a long way toward benefiting the entire family’s well-being.
The bond between a daughter and her father is particularly special, one that should be cherished and acknowledged. Take good care of your father by following these health tips regularly.
