The number of Covid-19 cases has skyrocketed over the past few days, and let’s just say the new variant Omicron is giving us all sleepless nights. As of January 9, 2022 alone, there were over 170,000 new cases recorded. Now, let’s just say that is a cause for alarm. Even though your symptoms may be mild, the viral infection is spreading like wildfire – again! So, what should we do and how can we ensure our recovery is smooth and seamless?

Health coach Dimple Jangda has shared some key information in her new Instagram post. Check it out for yourself:

5 things you must do if you have Covid-19

1. Steam regularly

This is a tip we’ve been hearing, ever since the first wave of Covid-19 hit us in 2020. Jangda advises adding a few drops of eucalyptus oil, mint leaves or even carom seeds to the water. This helps to kill the virus and bacteria in the local region.

2. Take a shower regularly

Also, make sure to tie some eucalyptus and neem leaves to your shower head and take a shower three times a day, says Jangda. This helps to kill any bacteria or virus that may survive in your sweat glands.

3. Sterilize the air at home

Put a bunch of eucalyptus and neem leaves around the house to sterilize the air.

4. Boost your immunity

Ensure to include turmeric, asafoetida, carom seeds, cumin seeds and garlic in your diet to boost immunity against the virus.

As per a study published in the Journal of General Virology, curcumin can prevent an alpha-group coronavirus that infects pigs called Transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV) – from infecting cells. When you consume it regularly, it could also kill virus particles.

5. Include vitamin C and D

Jangda advises patients to consume lots of fruits and veggies to get their dose of vitamins C and D. Stock up on tangerines, oranges, apples, cilantro, celery, lemons, spinach, curry leaves and moringa.

Besides that, these are the Covid-19 safety protocols to follow:

  • Make sure to follow a well-balanced diet that includes fruits, vegetables, legumes, pulses, and wholegrain to recover quickly.
  • Avoid spicy, oily, and junk food.
  • Make sure you isolate yourself and do not expose yourself to others. Cover your mouth while coughing or sneezing, in case you happen to come in contact with anyone at home.
