Dabbing sunscreen, wearing sunglasses, covering exposed body parts to restrict exposure to the sun is quite common in protecting oneself during summers. Along with all these, you need to consume a nutritious diet and stay hydrated to battle soaring temperature.

Since we sweat a lot during the summer, there is a possibility that we may suffer from dehydration. When our body loses too much water and salts we feel dehydrated. Thankfully, there are ways to prevent dehydration like drinking a lot of water and also increase fluid intake.

But first, these are the symptoms of dehydration
Our body is made of 60% water and due to its shortage, our whole system tends to suffer and we start to feel weak. We tend to feel thirstier when we are dehydrated. This is followed by a few other symptoms which include headaches, muscle cramps, weakness, hallucinations, dark urine, dry, nausea, sticky mouth, dry lips and tongue.

Wondering what to do this summer to prevent dehydration? We will tell you ways and foods that you must have to beat it this summer.

Beware of sun
Limit your outdoor activities during summers. The more you are exposed to the sun during this season, the more you are susceptible to dehydration. The body tends to lose more water when you are exposed to the sun. The glucose level in your body tends to fall and you start to feel weak and fatigue.

So, if you have to step out for essentials during the lockdown, ensure that you do in the mornings or evenings, when the sun isn’t so harsh.

Know when to drink water
If you are sweating a lot and at the same time are feeling thirsty, avoid drinking water the very moment. Let your sweat cool and then drink water. If you drink water when you are sweating you may fall sick.
