Citrus peels are loaded with vitamin C, antioxidants, bioflavonoids, potassium, and calcium. It has more vitamins than the actual lemon juice. When one applies citrus peels for skin care regularly, it can help solve many skin problems, including early signs of ageing, dark spots, pigmentations, wrinkles, and acne. The antioxidants in citrus peels help remove the free radicals and detoxify the skin.

Orange, kinnow, sweet lime, and lemon peels are especially beneficial for skin tightening and skin lightening. So, if you want smooth, glowing skin, start including citrus peels in your daily customized skincare regime. But how do you use them in skincare?

Here are seven ways to help you get started on using citrus peels for skin care:

1. Lemon peel powder and rose water face mask:

Dry lemon peel under the sun for 2-3 days and churn into dry powder. Mix two tablespoons of lemon peel powder with two tablespoons of rose water and 3-4 drops of rose water. Apply it on the face, leave for 15-20 minutes and rinse off.

2. Lemon peel and aloe vera face mask

If you have dry skin, use this face mask for soft and supple skin. Mix 1 tablespoon of lemon peel powder with one tablespoon of aloe vera gel, ½ tablespoon sandalwood powder, and one tablespoon honey. Mix to make a thick paste and apply it to your face and neck. Let it dry and wash off.

3. Citrus peel and yogurt face mask:

Take any freshly grated citrus peel and mix it with fresh yogurt to make a smooth paste. Apply the paste on your face and wash well.

4. Orange peel and oatmeal mask:

Orange peel has tons of vitamin C that keep away acne and dark spots. On the other hand, oatmeal helps scrub and deep cleanse the skin. Take two tablespoons of orange peel and mix with one tablespoon of oatmeal and honey. Mix well, and your mask is ready!

5. Sweet lime mask:

Take a sweet lime, grate the peel, and squeeze the juice into a bowl. Mix it and apply it to your face in a gentle circular motion. Leave it to dry and wash it off.

6. Orange peel face cleaner:

Dry orange peels and mix them with coconut oil or curd. This natural scrub pulls out the dirt and oil and leaves the skin soft.

7. Essential oil for skin:

Infuse some dried lemon and orange pills in coconut oil. Let the oil soak up all the vitamin C from the peel. Use it directly as a body massage oil or mix a few drops in your moisturizer and apply them on your face and body.
