Food isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to achieving that glow-from-within skin that you’ve always desired. We tend to focus on external remedies and cures. You may be using the right skincare products, getting regular facials, exfoliating your skin, so on and so forth. True beauty, however, comes from within. What we eat has a greater influence on our skin than most of us even realize. So, it’s important for you to consume the right nutrients for skin.

Here are 3 nutrients that can do wonders for your skin:

1. Vitamin C is important for your skin health

The most well-known antioxidant vitamin is vitamin C. It is known for its ability to regenerate ageing skin and is also responsible for collagen production. It also aids in the healing of sun-damaged skin. Fresh orange juice is the best thing to have in the morning. It is critical that you continue to consume vitamin C-containing products on a daily basis to help boost your immune system. A healthy immune system equals healthy skin.

2. Vitamin D keeps your skin healthy

To function properly, our bodies require a variety of vitamins and minerals. A lack of any vitamin can cause a variety of problems. Our skin and hair require vitamins and minerals as well. One of the most essential vitamins for our bodies is vitamin D. It is a fat-soluble vitamin and one of the most important vitamins for biological function. Vitamin D helps to reduce environmental damage. It functions as an antioxidant, and topical vitamin D can squelch harmful environmental oxidants that cause premature ageing. It regulates cell turnover and prevents the accumulation of dead cells on the skin’s surface, which causes psoriasis plaques. It also controls oil production via the skin’s sebaceous glands.

3. Omega-3 fats can give your skin the glow

Omega-3 fatty acids, which can be found in fatty fish such as salmon, will help improve the hydration of your skin. It also aids in the regulation of your skin’s oil production. They act as the fundamental components of cell membranes, shield the brain, directly lower inflammation, enhance heart disease risk factors, lessen menstrual pain, and improve bone health. Not only that, but they also contribute to the development of the skin barrier, guard against acne, and leave your skin glowing, supple, and healthy. Some fatty acids, such as omega-9, are naturally produced by the body. Others, such as omega-3 and -6 must be obtained from outside sources such as diet or topical application.
