This is one of the easiest ways to consume beetroot. After all, it’s not just healthy, but so delicious.

What makes beetroot so healthy?

There are several reasons why beetroots are considered healthy. To begin with, they are packed with a host of vitamins and minerals, and barely contain any calories. That sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?

1. It helps protect against heart disease

We all know how heart disease has become one of the biggest killers today! Whether it’s heart failure or stroke, there are various heart issues that have become so common today. And the reason for some of these ailments is high blood pressure. But there’s no need to worry when you have beetroots for company – after all, they can lower blood pressure by up to 4-10 mmHg in only a few hours.

2. It could help with inflammation

Inflammation in the body is one of the biggest reasons for several diseases like obesity, heart disease, liver issues and cancer. Beetroots contain pigments called betalains, which are said to have anti-inflammatory properties. However, most of the research has been conducted on rats and not humans.

3. It could aid your digestive health

It is common knowledge that dietary fibre is an important part of a healthy diet. Apart from its many benefits, it is also linked to better digestive health. For the unversed, one cup of beetroot contains 3.4 gms of fibre – now that’s definitely a flex! This can promote digestive health and prevents constipation as well as inflammatory bowel disease.
