We’ve all admired Masaba Gupta’s unique designs but not many knew that the lady is a fitness inspiration too! Apart from her unique designs and unconventional sense of styling, the ace Indian designer has also been sharing her fitness hacks with her followers through the series #Masabaswearsby!

Turns out, Masaba likes to keep it natural when it comes to her health. From dermal health to physical health, Masaba ‘swears by’ ingredients that can easily be found at home. She often posts about natural remedies she’s been trying out and this time around it is giloy kadha.

For the uninitiated, Giloy is a herb that is often called ‘amruta’ or the ‘elixir of life’, because it has properties that can boost immunity and impact overall health in a way that reduces the risk of infections and other diseases. This kadha recommended by Masaba can be particularly beneficial at this point in time when coronavirus infection is spreading at a fast rate.

The ace designer took to Instagram to speak to her followers about her love for guduchi/giloy Kadha. In fact, Masaba revealed that she consumes it twice a day after meals in order to boost immunity. In the caption, she wrote:

“Giloy/Guduchi Kadha – 50ml of this antipyretic, immunity-boosting potion (twice a day after a meal) has many health benefits. The root & stem can both be consumed.”

Before revealing how to prepare this healthy Giloy Kadha, Masaba did have a disclaimer to offer:

“I am a pitta type (in Ayurveda) and this is known to manage excess pitta, but you must check with an Ayurveda specialist before you consume it.”

The designer provided her followers with a step-by-step guide on how to prepare this kadha:

Giloy is what you need in this pandemic. Image courtesy: Shutterstock

1. One to 2 sticks of dried giloy in water (the qty in the video is for multiple cups)

2. Bring it to a boil. When the water becomes half the quantity drain & drink

3. You can mix amla, ginger, or black salt/honey if the taste is too bitter

She ended the post by reminding her fans once again that the results of this giloy kadha are tried and tested by her personally but the results may vary for others. Hence, it is best to speak with an Ayurveda expert in order to determine what will work best for you.

So, ladies, keep your immunity strong with this recommendation from Masaba!
