When it comes to weight loss, the myths surrounding it can seriously make it difficult for those treading on the path to fitness to make the right choices.

Eating fruits can lead to weight gain as fruits contain sugar is yet another myth that is not only silly, but believing it can even deprive you of the nutrition that fruits can provide.

However, eating these 5 fruits can not only give you that extra dose of health, but can also make you lose weight:

1. Load up on citrus fruits like orange
Citrus fruits are known to be rich in vitamin C and fibre and orange is no exception. Hence, it can keep you full, thus, avoiding the need for consuming extra calories.

In fact, according to a study, published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, oranges are four times more filling than a high-cal croissant and twice as filling as a muesli bar. How about that now?

2. The low-cal watermelon
High in water content and fibre and super-low in calories, watermelon can keep you hydrated, satiated, and on-track of your weight loss journey.

All that hydration can further help you lose weight, as per a study published in the journal Frontiers in Nutrition.

3. The fibre-rich apple
Surely an apple a day keeps the doctor away. But you know what else it can keep away? The weight gain.

In fact, several studies, including the one published in Journal of the American Dietetic Association, found that consuming apples as a whole fruit can lead to weight loss. This is simply because the fruit is loaded with fibre and contains flavonoids and beta-carotene, which can make you feel satiated and avoid food cravings too.

5. The nutrient-dense kiwi
Another fruit that’s often side-lined due its high sugar content is the kiwi fruit. But according to a study conducted in 2017, it can help reduce blood sugar, control cholesterol, improve gut health, and take inches off your waist. Win, win, we say.

So, ditch the idea of tossing out fruits from your weight loss diet and reap their many benefits.
