Love some sexy time between the sheets? Well, who doesn’t? Sex can really add spice to your relationships. The joy of slipping into the most gorgeous lingerie, turning each other on (foreplay, baby), and then building up to intercourse. It’s all so exciting, right? But it’s NOT just fun and games! A healthy sex life can really improve your health in so many ways. Yes, you heard it right.

Let’s get down to the details

1. Lowers blood pressure: Blood pressure has become one of the biggest banes of our times. But guess what? Some steamy sex can really help you with that. No, we aren’t kidding. European researchers asked 51 healthy men and women, aged 20 to 47, about their sexual frequency and then measured their blood pressure. The more sex they had, blood pressure decreased.

2. Improved productivity: Of course, sex really gets those endorphins flowing in your body. But what if we tell you that the effects of action in the bedroom can really help with productivity the next day? According to a study completed at the Oregon State University, married couples reported a higher level of job satisfaction and felt more engaged in work, the day after having sex. The effect is said to last for at least 24 hours!

3. Reduces headaches: Ah, our work lives can really give us headaches (literally). But what if sex is the answer to that? Oh yes, according to a study titled The impact of sexual activity on idiopathic headaches: An observational study, sex is likely to help in reducing migraines. Having sex either reduced the severity or helped to get rid of it completely, for 70% of people suffering from the issue.

4. Enhances immune system: A study titled Fertility and Sterility published in the journal Physiology and Behavior found out that the immune system receives a boost after having sex. This is in line with another study titled Sexual frequency and salivary immunoglobulin A (IgA), which revealed that college students who had frequent sex had higher levels of immunoglobulin A.

5. Increases chances to conceive: If you are trying to conceive, not just when ovulating, it’s important to have regular sex. According to research by Indiana University, sexual activity really helps to increase the chances of conception. Now, that sounds like good news!
