Every year with the advent of winter, we see jaggery taking over the market. And why not? Jaggery has this magical property to keep your body warm from within. We all know that gur is a nutritious and healthy alternative to sugar. But did you know when you start your day with it, by mixing it in a glass of warm water, you can get more health benefits than ever before?

Since jaggery is extremely rich in iron, antioxidants, and vitamin C content, it offers you a variety of benefits ranging from weight loss to keeping your body warm. So, without any further ado let’s look at what a warm jaggery drink can do for you.

1. It can warm you up

The warming nature of jaggery can be of great aid in the winter as it helps stabilize your body’s temperature. Jaggery can produce warmth in the body, even in this freezing cold, by dilating blood vessels! Furthermore, it also boosts your metabolism and helps in clearing out the toxins and waste.

2. It can keep you safe from the flu

The cold weather can make you fall sick often, but jaggery can help boost your immunity. The vitamins and minerals in jaggery can help alleviate symptoms of a seasonal cold. The several phenolic compounds content in it can very well fight off oxidative stress and relax your body, increasing resistance against infections.
